How to Become a Member in the Western Balkans Adventure Travel Association?
To become a member of the WBATA, prospective members need to follow a simple application process.

Membership Criteria
1. Membership Criteria for Full Members (Adventure Travel Tour Operators)
Full membership is available for adventure travel tour operators, which are companies that arrange and lead guided outdoor adventures and activities for travelers. To be eligible for full membership, you need to meet the following criteria:
Be a registered company operating in the field of adventure travel. The company operates in one or more of the six Western Balkans countries: Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Serbia.
The company holds a valid national licence to operate a travel agency and follows all applicable laws and regulations regarding labour, health, safety, taxation and consumer protection.
The company has valid insurance coverage for its operations.
The company has a good reputation, demonstrated through a history of satisfied clients and partners.
The company commits to responsible and sustainable tourism practices.
The company commits to regional collaboration, fostering partnerships across borders to promote responsible tourism initiatives.
The company upholds ethical standards in its operations, ensuring integrity and responsible conduct.
The company commits to active participation in the association's activities, including meetings, initiatives, and collaboration efforts.
The membership fee for full members is 150 EUR per year.
Associate membership is available for adventure travel service providers and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) that are involved in the adventure travel industry. To be eligible for associate membership, you need to meet the following criteria:
Be a registered business or organization operating in the adventure travel sector or be an NGO working in a related field.
Have a demonstrated commitment to promoting responsible and sustainable adventure travel.
Adventure Travel Service Providers: businesses that provide products or services to adventure tour operators in the Western Balkans, such as equipment suppliers, transportation companies, accommodation providers, etc.
Non-Governmental Organizations focused on protection of natural and cultural heritage in the Western Balkans or sustainable tourism development in the region, mountain rescue services, mountaineering associations, adventure clubs, etc.
Adventure Travel Tour Operators operating beyond the Western Balkans while offering shared regional products such as the Trans Dinarica cycling route.
The company/organization operates in accordance with all relevant laws and regulations, ensuring compliance with labour, health, safety and taxation standards.
The company/organization has valid insurance coverage for its operations.
The company/organization has a good reputation, demonstrated through a history of satisfied clients and partners.
The company/organization commits to responsible and sustainable tourism practices.
The company/organization commits to regional collaboration, fostering partnerships across borders to promote responsible tourism initiatives.
The company/organization upholds ethical standards in its operations, ensuring integrity and responsible conduct.
The company/organization commits to active participation in the association's activities, including meetings, initiatives, and collaboration efforts.
The membership fee for associate members is 100 EUR per year.

3. Membership Criteria for Associate Members (Individuals)
Associate membership is also available for individuals who work as adventure travel guides and instructors. To be eligible for associate membership, you need to meet the following criteria:
Adventure Travel Guides and Instructors: professionals who offer their expertise in adventure activities.
Adventure Enthusiasts: individuals who are passionate about adventure travel and support the association's goals, but do not operate adventure business.
The individual holds all necessary licences and certifications to operate safely and legally, adhering to labour, health, safety, taxation, and consumer protection laws and regulations.
The individual has valid insurance coverage for its operations.
The individual has a good reputation, demonstrated through a history of satisfied clients and partners.
The individual commits to responsible and sustainable tourism practices.
The individual commits to regional collaboration, fostering partnerships across borders to promote responsible tourism initiatives.
The individual upholds ethical standards in its operations, ensuring integrity and responsible conduct.
The individual commits to active participation in the association's activities, including meetings, initiatives, and collaboration efforts.
The membership fee for associate members (individuals) is 50 EUR.
Once your eligibility has been confirmed and your membership fee has been received, you will officially become a member of the Western Balkans Adventure Travel Association.
As a member, you will have access to a range of benefits, including networking opportunities, industry resources, and promotional support.
